Funding & Payment

You may not have to pay out of pocket

Roots and Wings Home Care is an approved provider under Alberta's Client Directed Home Care Invoicing (CDHCI) program. If you've been assessed by an AHS Case Manager and approved for home care, you can choose us as your provider — and we invoice Alberta Blue Cross directly for your approved hours.

How it works

We bill, you don't

Your AHS Case Manager authorizes a set number of care hours each month. We provide that care and invoice Alberta Blue Cross directly — you pay us nothing for those approved hours.

What you need

To qualify for CDHCI

  • A valid Alberta Health Care number
  • An AHS Case Manager assessment confirming you need home care
  • Approved hours confirmed by Alberta Blue Cross

You do not need an Alberta Blue Cross insurance plan.

What you pay

Only what's beyond approval

If you'd like more hours than AHS authorized, or services outside the approved rate, those are private pay. We'll show you exactly where that line falls before care starts — no surprises on your invoice.
